The Sahara Impact Fund was created by the Sahara Foundation to support the generation of innovative solutions, which will increase access to clean energy and promote sustainable environments. The Fund’s beneficiaries are selected from LEAP Africa’s Social Innovators Programme & Awards; a one-year annual fellowship which supports innovative young Africans who have ideas and initiatives that proffer effective solutions in local communities across Africa.
Impact Amplifier managed the investment readiness acceleration programme, through its online learning management system, Impact OS.
For the second year, IA is providing investment readiness support to 20 youth entrepreneurs - from nine African countries - whose businesses increase access to energy or promote sustainable environments. IA's next steps will be to provide post-acceleration support to the program's top 10 businesses who will also receive a grant for implementation when the program concludes in October 2023.
