We believe the private sector is key to finding solutions to what have historically been intractable issues throughout Africa. Impact Amplifier is at the forefront of this vision. We support social enterprises to get ready for investment, raise capital for them to scale, develop impact initiatives with larger corporations, and design ecosystem solutions within the impact economy.
Our fellowship programme offers a unique opportunity to exceptional individuals with a demonstrated interest in social entrepreneurship. In Cape Town, fellows are immersed in the dynamic and rapidly evolving field of impact investing while gaining a keen awareness of how the industry functions both in the Southern African context as well as on a global scale.
Our Fellows are an important part of our team and gain practical, on-the-ground exposure, working directly with businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa. Fellows benefit from:
We prefer individuals who have completed a Masters Degree or Doctorate and have several years of relevant qualifications or work experience in management consulting, sustainable or social development, public relations, finance or economics. Fellows must experience or demonstrate strong interest in social and/or environmental issues focused on the global sustainable development goals. We are looking for candidates with some or all of the following qualities:
The Fellowships are available to everyone. Impact Amplifier particularly values the development of talent and thought leadership within the African ecosystem and therefore encourages candidates from Africa to apply.
We are currently recruiting and accepting fellows year round. Applicants must be received no less than one month before the proposed start date.
Please note that during the Covid-19 pandemic Impact Amplifier will only be accepting applications for remote work, which offers the same opportunities as our in-country program, but through remote systems. Applications will be assessed based on the projects Impact Amplifier is actively involved in and will focus on key capabilities required such as research, analysis, proposal applications, financial modelling and impact modelling.
Once an application has been reviewed, you will be asked to submit an essay to give us a sense of who you are, what you are passionate about and how the Impact Amplifier Fellowship will further your growth and development. Shortlisted candidates will then be contacted for a remote 30 minute interview.
